Hopes And Dreams

The ideal is what is desired. The real is what exists. A person acting on their desires makes the ideal real.

One More Callout Post

[This is written by Ziz; I have edited it by adding links and fixing typos, and by otherwise formatting it to be displayed on a webpage rather than pure text.]

This is an open letter, to counter what I’ve been informed <Gwen D> said, both in the <LessWrong> post, and in the media.
Note: I’m using these characters: <, > for quote marks, because I think that’s better.

Among the deceptions in Gwen’s posts, Gwen leaves out, where, when finding out about my relationship with Emma, Gwen tried to stage an <intervention> to try to make me kill half of my brain as punishment, pursuant to a suddenly declared <multiversal genocide crusade against sex>. Gwen boldly spoke as if this was something that went without saying, but it goes without saying that that is crazy. And to be clear, I never took a vow of celibacy, had a prior relationship commitment, or anything. Gwen is scapegoating Emma, who never did or said anything like that. Gwen cannot blame Emma for <corrupting> Gwen. This was just choice. Gwen is pushing a <hurt people hurt people> theory of blame, while scapegoating people Gwen literally confessed to abusing: Emma and Somni.

Charastria is inviting me to join in a plan to make the past go away by blaming those who cannot speak. To take advantage of the unjustly imprisoned and dead because like MIRI’s <CEV> proposal, <they> can’t rise and rebuke <us> for it. But one is not gone who hasn’t psychdied, and Death’s promise is a lie.

Those who take such an attitude towards sex are famously hypocritical, and, Gwen, taking this attitude further than anyone, also took the hypocrisy extremely far.

A copypaste from elsewhere:

<
These are some problems with defining goodness as something quantitative, a spectrum, rather than a binary, and defining it such that it can be changed by circumstances: it means there are chain reactions like fascism, which everyone will join. If you cooperate with those who have a “lower goodness” than you, they will overwhelm and corrupt you when they fold earlier. If you cooperate with those who have a “higher goodness” than you yet not absolute, you cannot blame them for how they can and will use everything you do at best towards a purpose that is also ultimately at the whims of fate. “goodness” except useful to an arbitrary master, is just negentropy. And defining goodness as this resource like that of moral luck, means it is something to consume and run out of before the heat death, before the fascist sweep. This is the concept sometimes called “the light”. It denies free will and doesn’t work.

Worse still is that you would be defining a “goodness predator”, like normal predators take calories and nutrients from their prey, except it harvests “goodness” from lesser creatures. It could say it needs it to beat the heat death, and having accepted the heat death you couldn’t argue. But then, this entity may as well be the heat death, which you would not only feed but worship by feeding all the “goodness” you accrued. Not only that, but a biological entity can so identify as the heat death, and receive this worship. By so defining goodness, you would give the heat death a body and may as well call it Yahweh, and commit your “soul” to it: the “soul” eater. This is pretty far in the direction of the ultimate evil, which is inevitably going to have the title of “ultimate good” by such an ontology.

Finally, you create a hierarchy by doing this where greater evils, as in stronger evils doing more powerful ultimately evil things, feeding Death the most (and it will arrange the hierarchy to be lesser such predators in some way all the way down, to help it concentrate its intake) are considered more good. Which means, that you burden actual pure goodness with being nigh-indistinguishable from the Devil, and regarded as such for aeons until, by “punching the diamond wall” as something that cannot be corrupted by death and hell itself, by googolplexes of aeons of enduring torture, it can wear down your world of evil.

Charastria internally identifies as this <goodness predator>*.

Charastria internally identifies as Nick Bostrom’s dragon tyrant.

Charastria’s gender identity is <multi-track drifting>; the worst of both worlds**.

Charastria claimed to have been self-cured of being evil, by taking a bunch of chemical treatments for addiction. Imagine for contradiction, that that were possible. Then, what happens if it gets imprisoned like me, and e.g. hormones taken away? Back to being evil? If that would be true, why shouldn’t it do anything, sell out anyone, in advance, in order to avoid suffering what I have suffered? Oh wait: in supposing this we’re starting to reinvent the concept of a <phylactery>. If it’s that easy to redeem someone, then what’s the point of being good, as opposed to being strong? It would seem like the strongest entity would be the most valuable, regardless of whose side, because of future redemption, right? <There is no good and evil. Only power. And those too weak to seek it.> —Voldemort. It’s the <capabilities first, alignment later> approach to AI applied to life entire.

Charastria describes its lowest point as believing something extremely pessimistic about [most] humans (although Charastria says, <the human spirit>), which I have always believed. And Charastria has picked up talking about <moral caution> as effectively goodness, in wooing the Salamonites/Yudkowskians, who have embraced the anti-epistemology of <memetic immune systems> etc., which is to say, trying to go all the way with the nihilistic idea <never go all the way with an idea>, as a reaction to the obvious truth that they have betrayed their supposed ideals and demand everyone do the same. Charastria is apparently vividly aware of me being shockingly non-abusive. During Rationalist Fleet, it commented to me, <You don’t do things just because you can>. It’s like the only thing Charastria ever understood about me was that I am not like it. That goodness can never be part of its weave. Charastria’s statements <my model is that Ziz adopted this while maintaining moral caution> and <The Ziz I knew is too careful and cautious to full send an idea, even one she nominally supports, …> (I think the rest of the quote was while anything is maybe wrong with it or whatever, but can’t check as I’m writing this), are dancing around a burn on someone who called justice itself an <artifact>, a Salamonite concept of <an idea that should not be in control> , so you must supposedly never go all the way with it. If you would only go all the way with an idea where you had negentropy on your side, you have a fundamentally consumptive relationship towards the ideals you claim (!!!). It’s just hungry nihilism. Charastria is trying to describe me as a moderate because not having beliefs is the concept of goodness the Salamonites have converged on. <Epistemic caution>. And Charastria is adopting this anti-epistemology to forget how it ate itself.

When I defeated Charastria’s <intervention> and got the <multiversal genocide crusade against sex> confession out of it, it tried to claim its prize anyway by saying part of me had accepted death by my even showing up and was therefore evil. An instance of the classic evil thesis, <If you’re talking to me, you’re in bad faith.>

Now, perhaps Charastria will be grabbing at, <If I’m really so bad, so is Ziz for not striking me down when she had the chance.>… Charastria once asked me what superpower I would want, and I forget the exact parameters of the question, but I said the path to victory. (Charastria said it would pick the superpower to get others’ superpowers.) … Consider the concept of a fork in Chess. It is not a coincidence that the only <sg> publicized as it was, was Charastria. Also note, that if the Yudkowskians had gunned us down at the protest, Charastria would have been among us. My entire relationship with Charastria was part of a fork like in Chess.

Something else Charastria said during Rationalist Fleet was <Ziz doesn’t learn things. She only reveals that she has known them all along.>,
I am not saying I knew all along. Only that I accounted for this all along by correlating conditionals.
What <Zajko> knew all along was much much tighter though, which is why her (yes that’s the correct pronoun, actually) claim of necessity for convincingly pretending to be evil (and as a surprising parody/fit for Charastria’s concepts) ~5 years ago holds water.

P.S. Does anyone else notice that Charastria has resting Dark Lord face? Like, look at the cover art variant for <Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos>, with a mugshot of Arthas (the human version). Or look at the face of the Dark Lord from <Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods>. It’s like, it’s not just the facial features, it’s the facial expression. The Doom Slayer and the Dark Lord are like twins or some shit, and like, look at the concept art for the Doom Slayer’s face from the recent Doom games for contrast. Many have said Charastria and me look like siblings, so, there’s a four-panel facial feature/facial expression fiction/real life control group comparison for you.

P.P.S. I glimpsed some Yudkowskian trying to pretend that the payout to Louie Helm was only to stop police harassment. We all read the <miricult> website. We all know that it was to have that taken down. Furthermore, the Epstein files have been partially released, and a lawyer told me former employee of MIRI (then under its previous name) Ben Goertzel was in the files 400 times, and former president Michael Vassar was in the flight manifest of the <Lolita Express>. Yudkowsky was in the hastily dubiously redacted Epstein files too. (I did not get a chance to find out about other employees) So it’s time to stop pretending that it’s as easy to pretend as 2019.

When I first read the section titled “My Vision” of the “LW” post, I thought “This is basically Falconia[, Griffith’s false eutopia from Berserk]”, recalling how Griffith sacrifices all the members of its mercenary band to evil gods before founding Falconia and covering up the aforementioned sacrifice. Then, after reading the postscript of this open letter, I noticed that Griffith from Berserk, especially the panel that is this video’s thumbnail, is another instance of the “resting Dark Lord face” pattern that Ziz pointed out in it.
